Training You To Train Your Dog

Private Lessons – Please make contact to discuss your requirements.

Pet and Behavioural Training Packages consist of a minimum of a 1.5 hours followed up with email support for one month and are tailored to suit you and your dogs requirements. My emphasis is on training you to train your own dog to reach its maximum potential.

In-home training

• Offering  full advice, training & re-training, continued support, guidance & counselling.
• I will help you train your dog in your own home, garden or out and about.
• Giving you various tips and tricks to train with encouragement, praise and reward techniques.

Group Lessons

Please note that these classes are now restricted attendance and are booked in advance.

Groups lesson are run throughout the year including through the shooting season to ensure you are able to gain support and help if you encounter any problems during a shoot.  Group training covers basic training up to advanced standards and they are a good way of getting your dog to work around other dogs while not getting distracted.

Group training takes place every Monday at Nuthampsted SG8 8LS.

• Novice Dog and/or Handler: 9.30am- 10.30am
• Advanced 10.45am – 12.15pm
• Spaniel training 12.30pm – 1.30pm

General Basic Obedience Training

All dogs and handlers will be helped to learn some basic obedience, and knowing how and when to introduce basic dog training methods can greatly enhance your relationship with your dog. To make your dog a pleasure to own by teaching the following:-

• To walk by your side on the lead without pulling.
• To sit, stay or wait.
• To come when called.
• To wait quietly while you prepare his meal.
• To be under control when you open the door to strangers.
• To be quiet when asked.
• To not jump up on you or other people.

I you are struggling to keep your dog close to you on walks or your dog is completely absconding Truequest Training can help you with specific exercises to tackle this problem, along with training your dog to focus on you on your walks rather than you having to keep calling your dog.

Building a good trusting relationship with your dog is essential to gain its respect and obedience.

Cancellation Policy

48 hours prior to lesson – 50% charge/refund

24 hours prior to lesson – 25% charge/refund

Less than 24 hours – no full charge/no refund

You can postpone one private lesson free of charge if a new date is booked at time of postponement – further postponement of the same lesson: full fee is charged (at our discretion)

If lesson is cancelled due to weather conditions then your fee is rolled over to the next re-scheduled date.
